This area is to the west of the Kuwait University Medical Campus in Al-Shadadiya, approximately 20 km south-west of Kuwait City. In addition, there will be several health clinics, schools, shops, mosques, police stations, supermarkets, and various other facilities located in multiple blocks to ensure that there are enough services and facility spaces to provide for the local community.
Saudia Dairy and Foodstuff Company (SADAFCO) has installed and commissioned a (PV) - diesel hybrid system that delivers up to 40% of the facility's daytime energy requirements. The solar plant is 226KW in size and is made of CdTe thin film technology! The system communicate and operate in sync with the existing diesel generators to provide the needed power for the facility.
