Shams Al Safi Solar Power Plant: Driving Jordan’s Clean Energy Transition

15 March 2025

We are thrilled to announce the completion of the Shams Al Safi Solar Power Plant, a cutting-edge 3.70 MWp photovoltaic system developed in collaboration between Alternative Energy Projects Co. (AEPCo) and Green Sources Investment (GSI).Strategically located in the Dead Sea region, this project is a testament to our commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions in Jordan.

Equipped with single-axis tracking technology, bifacial solar panels, and albedo enhancement sheets, the plant is designed to maximize solar energy capture and optimize performance. Generating approximately 7.7 GWh of clean electricity annually, it plays a vital role in reducing carbon emissions by 5,000 tons per year, directly contributing to Jordan’s sustainability goals.

At AEPCo, we remain dedicated to delivering high-impact renewable energy projects that support energy independence, environmental stewardship, and long-term economic resilience. This project is another step forward in our shared vision for a greener and more sustainable Jordan.

Project Highlights:
  •  Installed Capacity: 3.70 MWp solar PV system
  •  Advanced Technology: Single-axis tracking, bifacial modules, and reflective enhancement sheets
  •  Annual Energy Output: ~7.7 GWh of clean electricity
  •  Environmental Impact: 5,000 tons of CO₂ emissions avoided yearly
