Kuwait National Guard

    Location: Sabhan, Kuwait

The Kuwait National Guard (KNG) is an independent combat institution tasked mainly with the defense of Kuwait and its territories. There are several KNG camps in various locations around Kuwait, which all contain a variety of facilities including headquarter buildings, clinics, supermarkets, warehouses, stores, dining & entertainment facilities, and central car park facilities. One of their largest camps is the Al-Tahrir camp located in Subhan, which has a large car parking facility with a maximum capacity of 1200 cars spanning 7 floors (2 below ground level and 5 above ground level) and a shaded roof area.

The KNG commissioned the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a 376 kWp solar car park system (roofing for their multi-story car park) at Tahrir camp to AEPCo in order to reduce their energy consumption from the local grid via renewable energy. The system will be grid-connected and consists of 325 Wp, Canadian Solar PV modules and KACO Blueplanet inverters covering the roof area of the car park. Installation of this system is slated to begin in 2021.
