Location: Karak – South Amman, Jordan

Shams Al Karak is a limited liability company specialized in renewable energy projects which generates power for Karak Municipality. This project is being built on an area of ​​50 dunums of Karak municipality lands located in the Lajoun area, with a production capacity of 3 MWac, and it will cover the cost of 50-60 percent of the cost of the electricity bill for Karak Municipality.

The project was conceptualized to reduce Karak Municipality energy consumption and adapt to a more green and renewable energy source. This was achieved by building wheeling a solar plant project to achieve their desired energy saving. The Karak Municipality granted a long-term lease contract to Alternative Energy Projects Co. to build and operate a 3 MWp solar plant.
