West Abdullah Al-Mubarak- 1

Location: West Abdullah Al Mubarak, Farwaniya, Kuwait

West Abdullah Mubarak is a new residential area being developed under the ownership of the Public Authority of Housing Welfare (PAHW) to provide affordable housing for Kuwaiti citizens along with all the necessary services and amenities. This area is to the west of the Kuwait University Medical Campus in Al-Shadadiya, approximately 20 km south-west of Kuwait City. In addition, there will be several health clinics, schools, shops, mosques, police stations, supermarkets, and various other facilities located in multiple blocks to ensure that there are enough services and facility spaces to provide for the local community.

AEPCo. has been contracted to design, supply, install, test, and commission a 1.86 MWp rooftop PV system across several different roof spaces (mosques, schools, clinics, supermarkets, etc) in blocks 1, 5 and 6. The aim of this system is to provide up to 20% of the annual electricity consumption for these three blocks from solar energy to reduce the overall demand on the National Grid stemming from these new areas. The system will be grid-connected and consists of 330 Wp, Suntech PV modules and KACO Blueplanet inverters covering the roof area of the car park. Installation of this system across the various locations commenced in June 2020.
